Mo-Kan Semi-finals

Game 3: 26 March vs. Teresa's in the semifinals of the Bob Durig Mo-Kan (0-0; Shootout 2-3)

We picked up our 3rd straight shutout, but we also picked up our first loss. I know that really does not sound possible.

We battled to a 0-0 tie that immediately went to PK's. We only made 2, so Allyiah would have had to be perfect and psychic to have kept us in it. She was neither.

The BWhite Player of the Match was Marge Pigott who spent 70 minutes of the match marking Lily Farcus.  Marge basically took her out of the game.  Lily is quite a player, so that served as quite a feat, generating some commentary from Farcus a few times.

So escaping the first 3-5 minutes when we seemed intimidated or nervous or something, we played well enough to win.  We had 2-3 very good chances to score in the first half from run of play that we just did not finish.  Happens. Unfortunately, we did not have a couple of deadballs to pick us up the win.

We did not really create enough corners and our throw-ins were not dangerous tonight, but the two corners we had in the first half were served perfectly, allowing us two other great opportunities to score.

Second half we did not create much at all, and neither did they.  We could have opened things up by taking Marge off Lily, but we thought we could create a goal without the risk.  Wrong obviously.

But when we practiced our shootout, we didn't miss.  So, we didn't mind going into the shootout. We were not deadly, however, in the one tonight.

We now move on to play a very good Lee's Summit North team for 3rd place. It's no bargain as they played very well against Sion in the other semi, falling 2-0.

We now stand 2-1.
